33. nanu 的用法

The phrase nanu is a combination of the negative participle na and the question marker nu. By itself, nanu is usually a modifier of the main verb.

短语 nanu 是否定分词 na 和问号 nu 的组合。就其本身而言，nanu 通常是修饰主要動詞的。

Ex. Nanu samanero gamam gacchati?

译. 出家人不是去村子吗？

Trs. Doesn’t the novice go to the village?

Samanero gamam gacchati nanu?

译. 出家人去村子，不是吗？

Trs. The novice goes to the village, doesn’t he?

Samanero gamam na gacchati nu?

译. 出家人不去村子，是吗？

Trs. The novice does not go to the village, does he?

Samanero gamam gacchati nu? (without na)

译. 出家人会去村子吗？

Trs. Does the novice go to the village?

Samanero gamam na gacchati. (without nu)

译. 出家人不去村子。

Trs. The novice does not go to the village.

Sometimes, nanu is combined with the Indeclinable ca and placed at the beginning of a sentence. Then it initiates the launch of an argument and is usually translated as “There may be an unfavourable remark here”.

有时，nanu 与无语尾变化的 ca 组合在一起，并放在句子的开头。然后它发起一个讨论，并且通常 翻译为"这里可能会有一场不愉快的谈论"。
